Blackstone Library &
Home Office
Project Snapshot
Location: Providence, RI
Project Type: Porch conversion and interior renovation
Scope: Custom library and home office
Client: Private homeowner
This renovation transformed an underused screened porch into a finished interior space that feels fully integrated with the existing Mid-Century home. Located along Blackstone Boulevard, the addition was designed to look and feel original to the house, preserving its character while adding meaningful new square footage.
At the heart of the project is a custom library and home office. The millwork was designed specifically for the client’s storage and work-from-home needs, with proportions and materials that reflect the home’s era without feeling overly stylized. The result is a space that functions well day to day and feels naturally connected to the rest of the house.
My scope included schematic design, a full permit-ready drawing set, 3D visualizations, and the design and documentation of the custom cabinetry. I also produced detailed shop drawings to ensure the millwork was fabricated and installed as intended.
This project reflects my approach to residential design: thoughtful additions and interiors that feel cohesive, intentional, and aligned with how people actually live in their homes.
